Solomon Islands is joining Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Tonga, Tuvalu and Kiribati to launch Building Resilience through Child-Centred Climate Change Adaptation (4CA) and Disaster Risk Management (DRM) Program on Wednesday in Suva, Fiji.

A statement from Foundation of the Peoples of the South Pacific International (FSPI) today says the country program aims to provide safer lives for children and youths and make their communities more resilient to disaster and climate risks.

It says the 4CA project recognised that the inclusion of children and youths is crucial because it is the largest group at risk from climate change and related disasters.

The newly extended program is funded by the Australian Government and will be launched by the Australian High Commissioner’s Acting Councillor for Regional Development Cooperation John Morley.
