The Solomon Islands Meteorological Services has today started its three days workshop on “Climate Services Users” in Honiara.

The workshop focuses on Solomon Islands Climate Services, Basic Climate Science, understanding the local climate of Solomon Islands, climate forecasting to improve adaptive capacity, assess impacts and risk of climate variability, using climate forecast and traditional knowledge.

A broad range of climate services users are attending the workshop to discuss and familiarize with a wide range of climate-related topics.

SIBC News understands speakers at the workshop included local experts from the Solomon Islands Met Services.

The workshop ends this Thursday.
