Save the Children, through its Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Program, also known as WASH, has conducted awareness for students of Ruavatu Secondary School in North Guadalcanal.

The program focuses on water management and proper hygiene and is a follow up educational awareness program after water tanks for the school were installed.

SIBC’s stringer Gabriel Riotarau reports the awareness team targets schools in North Guadalcanal that are mostly affected by April’s flash flood.

“They also did a presentation on how to keep drinking water clean and safe water as well as how to keep students and teachers’ hygiene in terms of food protection.”
