SHOPS BEGAN CLEANING UP AFTER FLASH FLOODS

A number of stores in China Town have began dealing with the aftermath of this week’s flash floods, cleaning up the mud and sludge the floods brought into their shops.

A visit by SIBC News today witnessed shop owners cleaning up the inside of their shops, which were mostly covered in mud.

Meanwhile, police closed the Mataniko bridge at 12 midday today and are maintaining strict control on the number of vehicles crossing the bridge.

Only essential and emergency vehicles are allowed through the Mataniko bridge.

SIBC News understands the general public are still being advised to stay at home until further notice.
