Solomon Islands and Taiwan discuss possible economic and business partnership

The strong bilateral relationship between Solomon Islands and Taiwan will extend to an economic and business partnership.

Taiwan is leading the initiative for the two countries to enter into an economic and business cooperation.

Taiwan’s Assistant Director-General of the Department for East Asia and Pacific Affairs Mr. Lawrence Hsiao told SIBC News, Taiwan is keen to develop the initiative further with Solomon Islands.

Mr. Lawrence is visiting the country this week accompanying six business partners from Taiwan.

They met with the Solomon Islands Government and its business stakeholders this morning at the Heritage Park Hotel to discuss possible areas of collaboration in economic and business activities.

“We had the opportunity to talk to the private sectors to discuss and explore any possible business opportunity. So we need business partners to join this workshop to have a fruitful conversation and cooperation in the near future.
