In Sports, Solomon Warriors lost narrowly to AS Pirae of Tahiti by 2-1 in an action- packed affair in the Oceania Football Confederation, OFC, Champions League currently hosted in Fiji.

The Group A match saw AS Pirae worked hard for their hugely entertaining victory over the Solomon Warriors.

Solomon Warriors started strong, holding down the majority of early possession, but it was restricted largely to their own half.

AS Pirae’s 2 goals were both delivered at the first half of the game.

Straight after the second period started, the Warriors came out with increased determination which resulted in the conversion of the local side’s only goal coming from none other than the experienced James Naka.

Warriors coach Moses Toata says his side had tried to improve its game in the second half but ran short on time.

He says his team is disappointed not to have pulled itself back in line on time.
