Solomon Islands is looking forward to hosting the 20th Melanesian Spearhead Group Leader’s Summit in July.

Papua New Guinea Foreign Affairs and Immigrations Minister Rimbink Pato reaffirmed this following his return from a two-day visit to Honiara last week. The Solomon Islands Government and people are proud to host the regional meeting and have already started preparing for it.

The PNG LOOP reports, Minister Pato also announced that Solomon Islands is looking forward to participating at the 46th Pacific Islands Forum to be held in Port Moresby in September this year. It adds Mr Pato has said, PNG and Solomon Islands will further discuss the sub-regional and regional issues affecting both countries in that meeting as well.

Solomon Islands benefits from a five-year development assistance of around $300 million from PNG.
