About 40 students of Allardyce Provincial Secondary School made a successful field trip to Arnavon Community Marine Conservation Area (ACMCA) with their teachers over the weekend.

A statement from Arnavon Community Marine Conservation Area says the objectives of the trip were to get first-hand information about marine conservation initiatives at the research centre.

This includes conservation of endangered hawksbill turtle, hands-on experience related activities and exchanging of knowledge with local rangers.

The students also learnt to carry out routine monitoring activities like turtle rodeo, turtle night tagging, milkfish pod visit, cultural heritage site visit and megapode nest visit.

The trip was organized by the school with support from the local organisation.
