Police Commissioner Frank Prendergast has said the surge in traffic incidents in Honiara are a grave concern.

Commissioner Prendergast said police have recorded a total of 217 traffic cases this year.

He says this is quite a large data for Solomon Islands.

“To date, we’re early in 2015 and we’ve had 217 traffic cases opened now, which is quite a large number for a country this size.”

The Police Commissioner appeals to the public to take precautionary measures when using public roads.
