Minister for Culture and Tourism Hon. Bodo Dettke said the Taiwan Youth Ambassadors’ Culture Exchange program is instrumental in promoting cultures and cordial relationship between Solomon Islands and ROC Taiwan.

The Minister Culture and Tourism said this in his speech at the opening of Taiwan Culture Day celebration at the SDA Maranatha Hall in Honiara this week.

He adds, as the Ministry responsible he encourages more of such activities.

He said the cultural exchanges and youth programs are fundamental pillars of consolidating our relations and it creates better understanding of our Universal Principles of Human Rights.

Meanwhile the group has met the Deputy Prime Minister Douglas Ete yesterday, followed by a visit to the National Parliament.

They also visited the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and then heading to Kakabona village for the cultural exchange in West Guadalcanal Constituency.

The twenty members youth group are scheduled to have an exchange program with local students at the Solomon Islands National University tomorrow.
