The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) has arrested three male suspects and retrieved a firearm over the weekend.

This follows a successful response by the Honiara-based Police Response Team and the Auki Police regarding an incident involving threats to Dalgro employees working in North Malaita.

The incident was reported to have occurred at the Taba’a bridge, North Malaita.

Malaita Provincial Police Commander, David Wate expressed his concern at such behaviour but thanked the local chiefs and elders of Loina village for their support in arresting the adult male suspects.

The PPC adds the arrest was a result of the support rendered by chiefs and elders of Loina and Taba’a villages.

Mr. Wate encourages communities to continue supporting Police in their work to ensure safer communities.

The suspects are in police custody and will appear in court on a later date.
