TWO NEW PERMANENT SECRETARIES APPOINTED

The Government has appointed two new Permanent Secretaries.

They are Dr Franco Rodi as the new Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development, and Jim Saelea as the new Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock.

Dr Rodi is from Lambu Lambu Village, South Vella La Vella, in the Western Province.

He holds a Diploma in Education, a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of the South Pacific, a Master of Science from the Australia’s Curtin University of Technology and a Doctor of Philosophy in Education Degree from the University of Waikato in New Zealand.

Mr Saelea is from Kilusakwalo village in Central Kwara’ae, Malaita Province.

He has served in the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock for many years as head of research and was the Under Secretary of the Ministry prior to his recent appointment to the Permanent Secretary post.

Their appointments are valid for a duration of 4 years.
