United Nations Under Secretary General and High Representative Gyan Acharya will visit Solomon Islands next week.
A UN statement today said Mr Acharya will be in Honiara from 6-8 April 2014.
The statement aid Mr Acharya is expected to meet with government officials, private sector stakeholders and business leaders to discuss the Third International Conference on Small Island Development States as part of his Pacific tour of Samoa, Fiji and Solomon Islands.
The statement adds, a particular focus will be on the Private Sector Partnership Forum that will convene prior to the Conference, including the announcement of concrete partnerships and ways forward to enhance the role of the private sector in achieving sustainable development in the region.
SIBC News understands a media conference with a focus on the meetings with various stakeholders and conclusion of the Solomon Islands visit will be held at UN Joint Presence Office in Honiara Tuesday next week.
