The Acting Programs Officer of the National Disaster Management Office Brian Tom says most affected areas of the recent bad weather are; Western, Isabel, Choiseul, and Makira Ulawa provinces.
Mr. Tom says NDMO has received numerous reports from the provinces, adding initial reports will be verified once teams are deployed to the sites.
Mr. Tom adds the most impacted sector is agriculture and infrastructure.
“Most impacted areas are most likely to be Isabel, Choiseul, and Western provinces as well as Makira Ulawa so the most impacted sector at the moment is agriculture while some on infrastructure. All these information will have to be verified by the assessment teams that will be deployed soon.”
