Western Province Police has scaled down it’s election security
operation as of three o’clock this afternoon and officers have resumed
their normal duties.

The Provincial Police also scaled down its operations following the
end of elections and the completion of the Province’s nine
constituencies.

Superintendent George Guna told SIBC News, the scale down was made following advise from the Police Commissioner. Meanwhile, the Western Provincial Police Commander has commended his officers for the successful operation, saying their hard work and efforts ensured a peaceful and trouble free election in Western Province.
