The Ministry of Education in collaboration with Guadalcanal Education Authority are conducting a historical Whole School Inspection program on North and Central Guadalcanal Constituencies.

Stringer Dudley Gani reports inspection officers from Guadalcanal Education Authority already carried inspection on Gaobata Community High School in North Guadalcanal since the beginning of this week.

“Officers from the Inspectorate division of the Guadalcanal Provincial Education Authority are currently conducting a whole school inspection on schools in North and Central Guadalcanal yesterday and today Tuesday 30th September the officers inspected the Ghaobata Community High School in North Guadalcanal.”

Mr Gani reports the leader of the inspection team Joseph Tangi says the initiative aims to determine the suitable standard of school administration, school environment and learning materials and staff accommodation.

“According to Joseph Tangi team leader of the group, a whole school inspection involves inspecting the administration, how they spent school fees and grants and whether they have complied with the spending criteria. In terms of students, whether the learning environment is conducive for learning and whether learning materials are enough. In terms of staff, whether their accommodation is in satisfactory condition and they have also inspected all other aspects of schools in the region.”

SIBC News understands, the school inspection program will eventually cover all schools administered by Guadalcanal Province.
