The brief of evidence in relation to the death in State Custody in June this year still awaits the testimony of a witness before being referred to the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Police Commissioner Frank Prendergast told his recent media conference there has been a delay in getting in touch with a particular witness.

But he says the brief of evidence has been finalised.

“The brief of evidence is being finalised and then it will be provided to the DPP for the independent hearing as previously stated so it’s important that investigation is conducted in a very detailed way and that there’s been a little bit of a delay in getting in touch with one particular witness but that will be handed over as soon as possible.”
