YOUTH FINED FOR PUNCHING ANOTHER

The Magistrates Court has fined a 21-year-old man $300 for punching another boy who was returning home from a Sunday service, July this year.
Earlier the Court heard the victim was returning home from Church through Saint Nicholas school, when he met the accused Eddie Daiwo and two others.
The Court heard the accused punched the victim under his left eye and challenged him to a fight.
The victim then reported the incident to the Kukum Police post.
The accused was arrested the same day.
He admitted punching the boy when he was interviewed and later pleaded guilty before the Court.
Magistrate Jim Seuika told the accused the fine is a punishment for him to learn from his actions.
