The councilor for Vavaya Ridge Ward in Central Honiara, Jonathan Zama has decided to move a no-confidence motion against the Honiara City Mayor, Andrew Mua.

Freelancer George Atkin reports Mr Zama is moving the motion because Mayor Mua has failed to properly administer the Honiara City Council.

Mr Atkin says this came after Mayor Mua failed to publicly tender a building contract for the construction of the Dental Clinic as required under government’s Financial Instructions.

He adds, Mr Zama will move the no-confidence motion against Mr Mua on Friday.

SIBC News understands the work on the dental clinic which began last year has come to a halt because the 2 million dollars provided by the Honiara City Council and the Ministry of Health and Medical Services had been exhausted.
