Reaching out to over 90 percent coverage on measles vaccination campaign for ages up to 30 years in Honiara City is a proud achievement for the Ministry of Health and Medical Services.

Incident Controller of the measles outbreak operations, Dr Aaron Oritaimae made the statement during a talk back show over the weekend.

“Our achievement so far, in Honiara City we have achieved up to over 90 percent especially in those up to 30 years old. Only 80 percent was covered for those who are less than a year old, so we will develop some strategies to try and increase their coverage by next week.”

Dr Oritaimae adds, the campaign team is communicating with the provinces to develop ways to scale up services for the measles outbreak in rural areas.
