Robert Ramson is the only Solomon Islander who graduated on Sunday from Pacific Adventist University (PAU) in Papua New Guinea with a Bachelor of Education this year.

Of the 394 graduates, Ramson held the Solomon Islands flag high, demonstrating his resilience in education.

Speaking to SIBC News in an interview, he praised the Solomon Islands Government for awarding him a scholarship to undertake his education studies.

“I am very excited that out of the 394 students, I am the only Solomon Islands student who graduated on Sunday,” he said.

Ramson thanked his family for their prayers and support from home, saying Sunday was the culmination of his studies at the university.

He also thanked the Solomon Islands community in Port Moresby and staff and lecturers at PAU for their support.

Ramson extended his gratitude to the Solomon Islands Government (SIG) for providing the scholarship.

Ramson, who has parentage from Malaita and Choiseul Provinces, said he is ready to serve the country in the education sector.

“I am ready to come back to the country and serve the people, the country, and serve students in the classroom,” he said.
