ACTING PM MAELANGA CONGRATULATES MAKIRA ULAWA

Acting Prime Minister Manasseh Maelanga today congratulates the Provincial Government and people of Makira Ulawa Province for attaining 31 years as a provincial assembly.

In a congratulatory message on behalf of the people and government of Solomon Islands today, Mr Mealanga says he conveys sincere congratulations to the Premier, the Provincial Assembly and the great people of Makira Ulawa Province.

Mr Maelanga says Makira Ulawa is an integral part of Solomon Islands and over the past 31 years, contributed immensely to the growth and development of the country with its natural and human resources.

He adds, their contributions have significantly shaped the development of the country’s economy and social sectors in many ways.

Meanwhile, the Acting Prime Minister says gaining a provincial status signifies the wish and aspirations of the people of Makira Ulawa in the last 31 years.

He assured the province of the national government’s commitment to support them as they persist to build their province and fulfil their people’s dreams even in isolation and difficulties.

The Acting Prime Minister said the National Government looks forward to working closely with leaders of the province in the years ahead in striving together to build the nation for future generations.
