Afio Health Center in Malaita Province has deployed health officers to provide measles vaccination in the southern region of Malaita
Province.

Richard Hou in Afio reports, Acting Community Health Nurse Consultant Lucy Sita said the health officers will provide awareness about the measles outbreak to communities.

“Nurses are currently out in the communities to advise and brief them about the measles outbreak.”

Hou also reports, Mrs Sita said part two of the campaign will ensure all people especially children are vaccinated from measles.

SIBC News understands, the Afio Health Centre received seven suspected measles cases as of last week.
