Calvin Ziru appointed as Interim Commissioner of TCSI

Telecommunications Commission of Solomon Islands (TCSI) has appointed its new Interim Commissioner, Mr Calvin Ziru.
Minister of Communications and Aviation, Hon Peter Shannel Agovaka appointed Mr. Ziru late last month as the Interim Commissioner until a substantive appointment is made in due course.
Minister Angovaka said, “As your Minister I am delighted to welcome you aboard our team. I look forward to working with you, the Evaluation Committee and the Telecom Operators in our country on matters of importance to this vibrant sector.”
Mr Ziru’s appointment comes following a recommendation from the Technical Evaluation Committee (TEC) of TCSI.
The Evaluation Committee comprises the Chairman, Governor of the Central Bank of Solomon Islands (CBSI, Dr Luke Forau and the Chairman of the Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI), Mr Jay Bartlett.
Mr Ziru in responding to his appointment assured the Evaluation Committee of his full and total commitment.
“I am indeed excited by the appointment and truly look forward to leading the Commission as its new Interim Commissioner in 2021.”
