COURT ADJOURNS SENTENCING SUBMISSIONS FOR HOOK WIELDER

The Magistrate Court has adjourned the sentencing submissions and mitigation for a man who was arrested for wielding a 30 centimetre hook during the Prime Minister’s election in 2011.

On the 16th of November 2011 during the election of the Prime Minister, the man armed himself with a 30 centimetre hook and walked around the Pharmacy shop in Point Cruz.

He was arrested and pleaded guilty to going armed in public.

Meanwhile, he has also pleaded guilty to two counts of simple larceny.

He stole some clothes from a clothesline in January 2012, and a wallet containing $3,000 cash on the 4th of February 2012.

He will appear again in Court on the 23 September for the sentencing submissions and mitigation on the charges.
