Expatriates working in the country have expressed surprise at the recent brutal killing of the Melanesian Brother (Tasiu) of the Anglican Church of Melanesia’s Brotherhood on North West Guadalcanal.

Freelancer George Atkin reports two expatriates working with the Ministry of Health and Medical Services who did not want their names revealed for safety reasons said the Tasius would be the least to even consider hurting.

The expatriates say this is reasonable as they have been contributing positively in terms of peace efforts since the ethnic tension days more than a decade ago.

SIBC News understands the late Brother Jackson Lodo of Masi Village, East Guadalcanal was killed while walking home along Vura Road on Northwest Guadalcanal early Thursday morning by a group of men.
