Former Miss Solomon Islands, Polosovai Vows to Continue Advocacy Work
By Eliza Kukutu
As former Miss Solomon Islands, Elsie Polosovai concludes her reign, she has pledged to continue serving as an ambassador for the country in whatever role or capacity she holds in the future.
Polosovai officially ended her tenure in August this year, after a year of advocacy focused on women’s health, an issue she remains deeply passionate about.
Speaking to local media on Monday during a brief return to the country, Polosovai said the end of her reign will not stop her from continuing the work she began.
“I look forward to supporting and promoting small businesses in the country in any big or small way I can, and also supporting causes that directly affect women,” she said.
“I am currently working and supporting my family, but I remain committed to representing and promoting the Solomon Islands in any way I can.”

Polosovai was crowned Miss Solomon Islands in August last year, receiving strong support from the public. During her reign, she advocated on women’s health and the need to improve health literacy among women.
She also told local media she plans to continue supporting women affected by breast cancer.
“Back in October last year, I organized the ‘Bake for Breast Cancer’ fundraiser in New Zealand. I’m now planning to do another one this year, and all proceeds will go to the Oncology Unit at the National Referral Hospital,” she said.
“I’m looking forward to doing that again this year with whatever resources and time I have.”
Polosovai represented the country at the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant earlier this year, where she won the Best Float Parade award and was named Third Runner-Up in the Miss Pacific Islands 2025 Pageant.
Reflecting on her journey, Polosovai expressed gratitude for the public support she received throughout her reign.
“I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the people of Solomon Islands for your encouragement, whether in person on the streets or online. Your support means so much, and please know it won’t go to waste. I will continue contributing to our country in whatever way I can as a former Miss Solomon Islands.”
“To Solomon Host and the team, thank you for being flexible and accommodating to my schedule.
It is not an easy thing to coordinate such event when the nation is watching so I commend you and your team for the hard work.”
