GNUT stable and focused

The Government for National Unity and Transformation (GNUT) acknowledges the front-page article published by the Solomon Star (Issue No. 9069, Monday 21 April 2025) titled “Parl to Meet Amidst Power Struggle.”

While media commentary is an important part of a free and democratic society, the headline does not accurately reflect the current environment within the Government.

The GNUT coalition, led by Prime Minister Hon. Jeremiah Manele, remains stable, united, and focused on its priorities: strengthening governance, supporting national development, and improving the lives of all Solomon Islanders.

Preparations for the upcoming parliamentary session, as well as ongoing party consultations, are standard and expected practices in any functioning democracy.

The Government remains committed to operating with purpose, transparency, and accountability, and welcomes constructive public discourse grounded in facts.

The Prime Minister has formally invited His Excellency the Governor-General to open Parliament with the traditional Speech from the Throne this week.

This important address will outline the Government’s policy direction and legislative agenda for 2025.
