The National Government has seen a number of achievements to date, says the Minister for Finance and Treasury, Rick Hou.

Minister Hou made the statement in Parliament yesterday, when he presented the Government’s No. 2 Appropriation Bill for this year.

In Parliament yesterday, Minister Hou said as a government they ensure that the country’s relations with its partners continue to be improved along with other government services to its people.

“As a government we ensure that relationships and ties with our development partners continue to be respected and improved; our children and citizens continue to be educated and up-skilled; our clinics and hospitals continue to function; our sovereignty and security is maintained and our justice system continue to function efficiently. Sir the government in this respect is committed to maintaining the delivery of these basic and essential services.”

The Finance Minister also said the government will continue with key investments in the social services and relevant sectors as well as respond to the people’s demands.

“We will continue with key investments in the social services sector, infrastructure development and the productive sector. Sir we will continue to respond to the demands for services by our people and as before we may have to where absolutely necessary. Trade of lower priorities with those that are becoming more critical.”

The No. 2 Appropriation Bill is currently before the Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee.
