
Government House confirms resignation of 10 GNUT Ministers

Government House has confirmed the resignation of 10 members of the Government for National Unity and Transformation (GNUT).
Private Secretary to the Governor General, Rawcliff Ziza, confirmed that Government House received the resignation notices from the 10 members last night.
Those who resigned include Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Communication and Aviation, Frederick Kologeto; Minister for Health and Medical Services, Paul Bosawai; Minister for Justice and Legal Affairs, Clezy Rore; Minister for Commerce, Industry, Labour and Immigration, Harry Kuma; and Minister for Mines, Energy and Rural Electrification, Derrick Manuari.

The other ministers who resigned are Minister for Environment, Climate Change, Disaster Management and Meteorology, Wayne Ghemu; Minister for Public Service, Francis Sade; Minister for Rural Development, Daniel Waneoroa; Minister for Traditional Governance, Peace and Ecclesiastical Affairs, Stephen Kumi; and Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Franklyn Wasi.
Mr Ziza said the Governor-General will respond to the resignation notices later this afternoon.
The resignations leave 10 of the country’s 24 ministries without ministers.
