
Governor General meets Singaporean President
The Governor-General, His Excellency Reverend David Tiva Kapu, has paid a courtesy call on the President of Singapore, His Excellency Tharman Shanmugaratnam, on Tuesday 18th February 2025.
During the audience, the President welcomed the Governor-General and his delegation to Singapore and congratulated him on his knighthood to be conferred by His Majesty King Charles III in London next week.
President Tharman Shanmugaratnam acknowledged the cordial relationship between the two countries and assured His Excellency of Singapore’s commitment to assist in the development aspirations of Solomon Islands in areas including tourism, agriculture, fisheries, forestry, and other development aspirations.
In response, His Excellency the Governor-General thanked the President for the warm welcome and for the opportunity to have an audience with him.
The Governor-General acknowledged the cordial relationship between the two countries and looked forward to greater cooperation in the future.
