HEALTH AUTHORITIES CAUTIONED STUDENTS OF INFECTIOUS DISEASES
Solomon Islands students studying at institutions overseas must take precautionary measures against contracting infectious diseases, says the Ministry of Health.
The warning follows reports of increased number of cases for dengue fever, inflenza like-illnesses, diarrhoea, and acute fever and rush in the region.
Supervising Permanent Secretary for Heath, Dr. Chris Becha said diseases and infections are now increasing and students must be careful.
“Regionally, especially in the Pacific, I just want to warn us, especially the public, that since students are ready to move out to our regional university institutions in the region, Australia and New Zealand included, we must know that we can contract these illnesses if we are not careful”, said Dr. Becha.
