A local business owner has called on local business houses and responsible authorities to assist erect more sheltered bus and taxi stands along the Honiara streets.

Managing Director and owner of Willies Electrics, David Iro made the call after noticing the ever increasing need for proper bus and taxi stands in Honiara.

He says having more sheltered bus and taxi stands would serve the general public from rain and sun exposure.

Mr. Iro calls on business houses and authorities responsible for the country’s transport sector to build more sheltered stands to help people.

“I’d like to call upon business houses and also the authorities looking after the transport sector to consider building more bus and taxi stand shelters at the areas covered by the public transportation. I believe the bus association is also working very hard to improve services to the general public. I also noticed that there is a greater need for us to provide shelter at bus and taxi stands so that people can feel safer when they travel.”

He adds the traveling public deserve some form of comfort and shelter especially when it comes to traveling in wet weather as currently experienced in the country.
