MAN IN CUSTODY UNDER SUSPICION OF KILLING HIS WIFE

A man is in custody under suspicion of killing his wife during a domestic row at the staff housing area at the Kukum Campus of the Solomon Islands National University.

The woman’s body was discovered early Wednesday morning under a tree near her house, with a piece of rope around her neck.

The Police Media Unit says initial investigations and medical reports led police to arrest the woman’s husband and he is now the prime suspect in her death.

The Police Media Unit says he has been charged with murder and is in custody for further investigation on the matter.

He will appear in Court at a later date.
