The security of medical practitioners serving at the National Referral Hospital has again been questioned after a nurse was attacked and stabbed while on duty.

A female nurse working on a night shift at Number 9 was last week attacked by an alleged drunkard.

Eyewitnesses spoken to by SIBC News say they saw the man approached the nurse and stabbed her with a sharp object.

The nurse then screamed for help but the hospital security officers were nowhere near the vicinity.

Meanwhile, the incident has again raised the issue of lack of adequate security at the national referral hospital.

The general public has questioned the hospital administration’s ability and competence to deal effectively with such issues.
