NINE OF 20 CUBAN GRADUATED DOCTORS ARRIVING TODAY

Nine of Solomon Islands recently graduated doctors who studied medicine in Cuba will be arriving today.

They are the second of three groups to arrive, and nine out of the 20 doctors who the Government first sent to study medicine in Cuba.

According to Audrey Rusa of the Ministry of Education – four doctors were expected to arrive yesterday, nine will arrive today, and seven tomorrow.

The doctors had graduated towards the end of July this year after a 6-year study program.

Meanwhile, the Permanent Secretary for Health and Medical Services, Dr Lester Ross says officials from the Ministries of Health and Education will be welcoming the new doctors after their arrival.
