Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare extols parties attending the Government’s National Healing and Apology program this week.

Delivering a powerful speech to open the program, Prime Minister Sogavare said, participation in the program has sent a strong message to other Solomon Islanders who are still leaving in the shadow of the past.

Mr Sogavare acknowledged the bold step taken by parties in the program.

He said they have the solemn duty to pave the way for lasting peace and unity in Solomon Islands.

“Thank you for coming forward, your presence here this morning is sending a strong message to other Solomon Islanders are still living in the centre of the past and would rather continue to see this country sliding down the path of ethnic hatred and anarchy by making lousy excuses.”
