The Police traffic department plans to conduct an awareness on traffic rules and regulations for vehicle drivers.

The awareness will focus on the provisions of the country’s traffic rules and regulations where drivers must comply with.

While the awareness date is yet to be confirmed, expected topics are unlicensed vehicles, unlicensed drivers, drink and driving, speeding,   and vehicles with defective tires.

Others include breaks, poor lights, playing loud music and illegal parking.

Operations Manager Macfretch Tesuatai said the awareness will be carried out together with the Ministry of Infrastructure Development.

“This awareness will help vehicle drivers to know the traffic rules as well as road signs while driving.

“It is to ensure that every Vehicle driver in the country must obtain a driving license and avoid the influence of liquor while driving,” Tesuatai added.

He called on all citizens to work together with the police and Honiara City Council to keep Honiara City Safe.
