SIR FRANK KABUI TAKES HIS OATH OF ALLEGIANCE TODAY

Sir Frank Ofagioro Kabui has taken his oath of allegiance as the seventh Governor General, since Independence in 1978.

Sir Frank will serve a second term in office, following his successful election in Parliament, in early May this year.

He took his oath and was sworn in this morning at Lawson Tama, during celebrations to mark the thirty-sixth Anniversary of Independence this morning.

“I Sir Frank Utu Ofagioro Kabui, GCMG, CSI, OBE, LLB do swear that I will well and truly serve Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second her heir and successors in the Office of the Governor-General of Solomon Islands, so help me God.”

Sir Frank’s swearing in was witnessed by Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo, the Acting Speaker of National Parliament Job Dudley Tausinga, the Attorney General Billy Titiulu and SICA rep, Pastor Eric Maefonea.
