The Solomon Islands Meteorological Services has issued a Swell Advisory warning for parts of the country.

Met Service Swell Advisory is enforced for low-lying coastal islands of Ontong Java Atolls, Dai. Ramos, Sakaiana and Northern Choiseul. Isabel, Malaita, Makira and Temotu.

The Met Service says these areas expect moderate Northerly Swells of up to Four meters from the northern part of the country’s water in the next few days.

It explains there is a possibility of Coastal Inundation over low-lying islands and Atolls.

The Met Service warns all mariners and people living in low-lying areas to take precautionary measures and listen to the SIBC for advice as the swells can pose threats to human lives and properties.
