TAIWAN PROMISES DEEPER TIES WITH SOLOMON ISLANDS
Taiwan’s new Ambassador to Solomon Islands, Victor Te-sun Yu, has promised to deepen relations with the Government and people of Solomon Islands during his term in office.
Ambassador Yu, who succeeded Roy Wu, made the assurance when presenting his Letters of Credence to the Governor General Sir Frank Kabui in Honiara, today.
The Taiwanese diplomat said he comes to Solomon Islands with strong convictions and aspirations, to take the friendship and cooperation between the two countries to a “higher plane”.
Ambassador Yu further promised that he will attain many tangible and beneficial achievements that will live much longer than his tour of duty.
Welcoming the new Taiwanese Ambassador, Governor General Sir Frank Kabui said Taiwan contributes much to the development of Solomon Islands and he hoped the new Ambassador will continue to enhance this relationship to greater heights.
Ambassador Yu was posted in Norway, before being posted to Solomon Islands.
