TATAMBA TO BE POWERED WITH SOLAR

Tatamba Fisheries Centre in Gao Bugotu, Isabel Province will be the first centre to use solar powered deep freezer and lightings thanks to the Overseas Fisheries Cooperation Foundation of Japan.

Deputy Director Provincial Mr. Ben Buga says OFCF’s assistance is in response to requests from the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources.

Mr. Buga says with solar powered deep freezers and lightings, Tatamba will now be able to save fuel and other related costs as ice produced and fish will be stored in freezer powered by solar.

The assistance includes a solar powered 600 litres deep freezer and six solar powered lights.
