Unconfirmed reports say, this year’s national general election might fall on or around mid November.

This is revealed by a reliable inside source.

It adds, political parties contesting in this year’s national general election will be awarded their certificate on the first week of October after which and inline with the Political Parties Integrity Act, the Governor General will announce the election date.

SIBC News source says from the date the Governor General declares the election date, it will take a further 42 days before the actual election date.

Therefore, it is possible the national general election will fall around mid November.

The Governor General is yet to announce the official election date.

SIBC News could not reach the Attorney General to explain the legal process and time frame from the dissolution of parliament to the national general election when this bulletin goes to air.
