
Tavuli Orchid Crowned Champions of PacificAus Sports Rugby 7s

Tavuli Orchid Women’s Rugby Team emerged as champions of the PacificAus Sports Rugby 7s competition, which concluded successfully this evening at the Town Ground Rugby Stadium.
Tavuli went unbeaten throughout the tournament and secured a dominant 36–0 victory over the Diesel Power Girls in the grand final, earning the $10,000 cash prize.
Head Coach, Gary Hatigeva credited the team’s resilience and commitment for their outstanding achievement.
“This competition was a step up from last season, but I believe the Team Tavuli girls came out victorious because of their resilience and commitment to planning and preparation—it truly paid off for my girls.
“Overall, it was another strong season for Tavuli Rugby Club, especially for Tavuli Orchid,’’ he insists.
Coach Hatigeva also credited the rest of the teams for providing a tough challenge for her girls and wished them all the best in the upcoming season.
Diesel Power finished second, taking home $8,000 in prize money.
In the third-place playoff, Avaiki Girls claimed a 12–5 win over the Crusaders, earning $6,000.
The Crusaders, who finished fourth, received $4,000.
Meanwhile, the Solomon Islands Rugby Federation expressed its gratitude to the Australian Government for sponsoring the tournament, and thanked all who contributed to the success of the event.
