Hon. Manemahaga sworn in as Minister for Commerce, Industry, Labour and Immigration

Hon. Trevor Manemahaga was officially sworn in today at Government House as the new Minister for Commerce, Industry, Labour and Immigration, completing the latest phase of the ministerial reshuffle under the Government for National Unity and Transformation (GNUT).

The oath of office was administered by the Governor-General, His Excellency Sir Reverend David Tiva Kapu.

Hon. Manemahaga previously served as Minister for Environment, Climate Change, Disaster Management and Meteorology. 

His reassignment to the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Labour and Immigration follows the recent reshuffle aimed at strengthening the government’s leadership and ensuring effective service delivery across key sectors.

Prime Minister Hon. Jeremiah Manele congratulated Hon. Manemahaga on his new appointment and expressed confidence in his ability to take on the new portfolio.

With the completion of the recent reshuffle, the updated ministerial assignments are as follows:

  • Hon. Trevor Manemahaga, MP for Gao/Bugotu – Minister for Commerce, Industry, Labour and Immigration

  • Hon. Lency Vokia, MP for North East Guadalcanal – Minister for Lands, Housing and Survey

  • Hon. Polycarp Paea, MP for Malaita Outer Islands – Minister for Environment, Climate Change, Disaster Management and Meteorology

These changes reflect GNUT’s commitment to aligning capable leadership with key development priorities to drive progress and stability for Solomon Islands.
