
M-SELEN launches full commercial rollout of ‘Buy Goods & Services’ — offering zero transaction fees
M-SELEN, the Solomon Islands’ leading mobile money platform powered by Our Telekom, today announced the full commercial launch of its new digital payment feature, “Buy Goods and Services.”
This follows a successful soft launch in June and introduces a bold nationwide offer: customers will enjoy Zero Transaction Fees on all purchases made through the service from 1 August to 30 September 2025.
M-SELEN’s “Buy Goods and Services” feature allows customers to make secure, cashless payments for everyday goods and services using their mobile phones—whether basic feature phones or smartphones.
The service is accessible via the M-SELEN App or by dialing *123#, then selecting the “Buy Goods & Services” option.
Customers can pay at any participating merchant by scanning a QR code or entering a merchant code, making transactions fast, simple, and cost-free during the campaign period.
“This is about transforming everyday payments,” said Majidul Haque, Head of M-SELEN. “With this launch, we are removing the friction of cash and offering a safer, more convenient, and inclusive way for people to shop—without paying a single cent in transaction fees.”
Merchants across the Solomon Islands are also set to benefit from this digital shift. By accepting payments via M-SELEN, shop owners can reduce cash handling risks, simplify business operations, and manage funds directly from their M-SELEN wallets.
They can also pay suppliers, top up utilities, and transfer funds to bank accounts, all through a single platform.

Since its launch, M-SELEN has onboarded over 3,000 agents and registered more than 350,000 users—representing over 45 percent of the Solomon Islands population. The introduction of the “Buy Goods & Services” feature marks a significant step forward in the platform’s mission to modernize financial services and provide convenient, secure alternatives to cash-based transactions.
Customers can begin using the service immediately by downloading the M-SELEN App or dialing *123# and selecting “Buy Goods & Services” at participating merchant outlets.
