PM Manele updated on Political Parties Commission.

Prime Minister Hon. Jeremiah Manele MP, received a courtesy visit from the newly appointed Solomon Islands Political Parties Commission members at the Office of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.

The Commissioners in attendance included Mr Victor Ngele (Chair), Lady Joy Kere, Mr James Remobatu and Mr Frank Paulsen. Registrar Gilson Galo was also in attendance.

Friday’s courtesy visit provided an opportunity for the Commission to brief Prime Minister Manele on its work progress and key priorities- advancing its mandate.

Chairperson, Mr. Victor Ngele, expressed the Commission’s commitment to fulfilling its duties.  He reassured the Prime Minister of the confidence, competence, and experience of the Commission, adding that with adequate support and resources, the PPC stands ready to deliver its responsibilities effectively.

The review of the Political Parties Integrity (Amendment) Bill and Constitution (Amendment) (Political Parties Reform) Bill were also discussed.

Prime Minister Manele welcomed the updates and emphasized the critical role of the Political Parties Commission- Regulation and Oversight of Political Parties, Governance and Compliance and strengthen the country’s democratic processes.
