Prime Minister Hon. Jeremiah Manele has called on the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) to make effective use of the newly donated vehicles from Australia.

He made this appeal during the official handover ceremony of the first batch of vehicles held yesterday at the Rove Police Headquarters.

“I urge the RSIPF to put these vehicles to their best use in the service to protect Pacific Forum Leaders when they grace our shores, and eventually in the service of our people and our nation,” said Prime Minister Manele.

The Prime Minister stated that the new fleet will strengthen the RSIPF’s ability to maintain law and order, improve mobility, and enhance overall security across the country.

“With this new fleet, the RSIPF is better equipped and mobile than at any other time in its history to protect our communities, maintain law and order, and safeguard national security,” he said.

With the 54th Pacific Islands Forum Leaders’ Meeting set to take place next month, the Prime Minister expressed full confidence in the RSIPF’s readiness to ensure a safe and secure event.

“As we prepare to welcome our Pacific family and leaders, I am confident that with the dedication of the RSIPF, the support of Australia and other partners, and the cooperation of our citizens, Solomon Islands will host a safe, peaceful, and successful event,” he said.

Prime Minister Manele also extended heartfelt thanks to the Government and people of Australia for their ongoing support.
