By Anna Do’oro
The Rotaract Club of Honiara is commemorating World Rotaract Week by highlighting its community projects, partnerships with other Rotary clubs, and the positive impact of youth-led initiatives across the country.
The week also celebrates and promotes the work and achievements of the club and its members, not only in Solomon Islands but also worldwide.
The club has begun its campaign this week with social media educational content promoting its members, highlighting their work, and sharing positive messages through online platforms.

Project Director for the club, Thompson Rikimani said the Rotaract club of Honiara is excited to be celebrating Rotaract Week.
“We have organized some activities for our members to be involved in.
“We started off the campaign this week with social media educational contents promoting members, the work we have done and sharing positive messages through online platforms.”
To conclude the weeklong campaign, the club has organised a community clean-up event to take place at Rove Children’s Park on Saturday, March 14. On Sunday, members will host a trivia session.
The club, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Honiara, is the only established Rotaract club in the country and has been operating since 2016.
Its members consist of young adults aged 18 to 30, who participate in community service, develop leadership skills, and connect with like-minded peers around the world.
In addition to community projects and clean-up campaigns, the club also donates school stationery to schools in the country.
Members of the club elect their board of directors annually through a vote by members in good standing, following standard Rotaract procedures.
World Rotaract Week is commemorated globally each year and falls on March 13.
