Solomon Airlines Domestic Fare Increase

Effective immediately, Solomon Airlines will implement a 5% increase to all domestic airfares across the Solomon Islands.

This adjustment is essential to address rising operational costs and to help ensure the continuation of services to support the nation.

The crisis in the Middle East has had an immediate impact on the cost of Jet A1 fuel and this has increased our operating costs both direct and indirect with many suppliers of other products we use also increasing their costs to us.

A number of the domestic routes are historically unprofitable, creating a complex balance between providing essential services throughout the country and ensuring the airline’s financial sustainability. Despite ongoing cost-cutting and increasing efficiency within the airline, this fare increase is necessary to support continued operations.

Solomon Airlines is undertaking a comprehensive review of its domestic business model to address these challenges.
